About
Benjamin Opara is a long-time resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, USA. An engineer, he attended the University of Nigeria, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering (1985).
Prior to starting his own businesses, he worked for several engineering firms in Nigeria and the U.S., including the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and American Engineering and Testing, Inc. He currently owns Duziem Labs on Stedman Street in Lowell.
He has served on the boards of several non-profits. He is the founding chairman of Nigerian Association of Merrimack Valley.
He currently serves on the Lowell School Building Committee overseeing the construction of the new multi-million dollar High School project. He is also an adviser to the Parker Foundation, a major funding source for non-profits in the region.
He lives in Lowell with his wife Valerie and their three adult children.
