JoAnn Sheehan is a mother of three, grew up Catholic in a predominantly all-white Jewish suburb in Massachusetts and has lived in New Hampshire for 30 years, raising her family there. She has worked at Gateways Community Services for 23 years, taking on various roles that showcase her adaptability, dedication, and commitment to community service. JoAnn graduated summa cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelor's in human services and a minor in substance use disorder, furthering her commitment to substance use issues. Her personal story includes overcoming the challenge of her daughter's substance use disorder, witnessing her recovery, and experiencing significant life changes, such as marrying three times and converting to Islam 21 years ago. These experiences have contributed to her resilience, spiritual growth, and broad perspective. Married for 20 years, JoAnn's life story emphasizes faith, commitment, and perseverance by continually working to overcome adversity, embracing growth, and tirelessly working toward the betterment of herself and those around her, making her a truly inspiring individual.
